Sharon Parish was an incredible woman and leader within NGA. It was an honor to design materials for the organization’s prestigious leadership award to remember her.

The materials needed to convey strong leadership and inspire employees to nominate the leaders they work beside. Together, the image, color palette, and typography communicate an aspirational tone and convey strength, balance, and success.

Role

Art director and sole graphic designer.

• Reviewed background materials regarding the award

• Discussed vision with project leader and developed creative brief

• Brainstormed and sketched ideas

• Determined design and layout

• Researched and curated the illustration, typography, and colors to align with design vision

• Tailored art to align with design vision and to reflect diversity (in original art all figures were male) and developed multiple design options

• Prepared files for in-house printing
